I don’t understand why people automatically write off Hollywood remakes and the people who like them.
I mean, some of them are terrible, that’s true - but there are some good ones that get overlooked, just because they’re lumped in with all the others.
For example (and this is probably sacrilegious), I preferred the American remakes of both The Ring and A Tale of Two Sisters. The fact that the intelligence and movie knowledge of people in the same boat as me is brought into question because of that makes me want to punch someone in the face.
Just because I prefer those remakes doesn’t mean I need ‘everything spelling out for me’, and it doesn’t mean I ‘don’t understand real scares.’ I just think the remakes were a lot tidier than the originals were. Of course, the original movies came up with the ideas, but maybe they were just executed a little better in the remakes.

I’ve just been reading back through posts, and I see a tonne of posts about John Cena’s win last night.
Let me just say right now - everyone is entitled to like whoever they want to like. I, for one, do not like John Cena. I don’t hate on him for the sake of hating, as I know a lot of people do; I don’t think it’s the cool thing to do. I’m just not entertained by the guy, and I shouldn’t feel obligated to be entertained by him because people tell me to.
He is stale. His promos do nothing for me, and I think his in-ring work is shoddy.
Am I hating for the sake of it? No. It’s called having an opinion.
Now, John Cena: the man? That’s a completely different story. All of his work he does with Make A Wish, and the time he puts into this business? I respect every fibre of his being, believe me. I also think he seems like a genuinely lovely guy. I’m very fond of John Cena: the man. It’s only like watching a TV show and disliking a character. It doesn’t mean I dislike the actor.
I guess I’m just tired of seeing every single person who isn’t entertained by John Cena categorised as a certain type of person - the type who chastises him for his ‘five moves’ or for being ‘Super Cena.’
I’m entitled to dislike someone as much as anyone else. Just because it’s John Cena doesn’t mean that my argument’s invalid.
An overdue Angle appreciation post.
I can’t believe I was so emotionally invested in that match I’ve just watched. And it’s all because of one man - Kurt Angle.
As someone who doesn’t watch TNA an awful lot, Kurt Angle is the one man in that company who I always make sure to catch up on the progress of - not only because he’s my second favourite wrestler of all time (behind the wonderful Chris Jericho), but because he continues to put on A+ matches with every single person he’s put in the ring with. Hell, he had an outstanding match with Abyss, once upon a time - that takes some doing. I have a soft spot for wrestlers who can get in a ring and have a good match with anyone; wrestlers who bring the best out of others. Kurt, like Jericho, is one of those guys.
Kurt Angle is a prime example of TNA having all the talent they could need at their disposal. He’s arguably the greatest pure wrestler of his generation - perhaps of all time. Definitely the greatest pure wrestler I’ve ever seen, anyway. He gives so much to his matches, to this industry - sometimes, a little too much. He frightens me at times, I won’t lie. I wish he didn’t do some of the shit he does, but you can’t argue with his passion for this business. The sacrifices he has made to entertain people like us? Unquestionable, and you have to respect him for it.
He says and does some stupid things at times but, at the end of the day, Kurt Angle will go down in history as one of the greats. Or, if there’s any justice, he will do.

One of the finest performers, one of the finest entertainers I’ve ever had the privilege of seeing compete in the WWE. I’ll remember the last time I saw you wrestle live - you took the time to walk around the entire ringside area, shaking hands with every single person who stuck their hand out. I was one of those people.
We’ll all miss you, Edge - but we’ll have the memories that you’ve given us. Spearing Jeff Hardy off the hanging title belts at WM17, Five Second Poses and Kazoo playing… and countless others.
I’m glad you’re doing what is best for you, but I speak for us all when we say we’ll miss you, we love you, and thank you. <3

Oh, anon. Well, that’s a good question.
I used to watch TNA as religiously as I did WWE, and I enjoyed it - but… I just can’t anymore. I find it so difficult to sit through an entire episode of Impact, because the booking just beggars belief. I feel like my own brains are dribbling out of my ears - and I do value my brains, tbh.
The thing is, they’ve got some of my favourite wrestlers on the planet in that company. They have so much talent, it’s insane - there’s no-one that can deny they have a fantastic roster at their disposal; and yet, somehow, they find ways to completely screw themselves over. They’d rather hire WWE cast-offs than focus on their homegrown talent, because they have some strange obsession with the WWE that they need to get over.
I want TNA to succeed. Really, I do. I want WWE to have some competition, and I want some of my favourite wrestlers to be working in a decent company, where I can stand to watch the shows - but, for now, that’s not going to happen… and it’s a damn shame.
I still watch for shits and giggles from time to time, though.
